| It’s the question that every dog asks when they see your suitcase or briefcase. "If I'm not going with you, who is going to love me?" And now they know the answer. Sarah Sits-N-Stays Pet Sitting! |
My friend, Oedipus, a sweet, sweet, snow white kitty cat whom I was truly blessed to know, recently passed away. He really was a special boy, and his mother and best friend wrote this poem in remembrance of him. I think this poem speaks for itself…
Ode to Oedipus (part 4) Twilight Years.
I delight in our quiet time my love
Where you follow my footsteps eagerly
When you enter the garden gingerly
When you press your forehead against mine
Our afternoon naps are pure bliss
You spoon me cautiously
My arm outstretched to touch you and know you are beside me
All the while, your soft purr vibrates into my soul
My Oedipus – the twilight years.

Wow! I want to share with you all some info on a Rescue about which I just learned. Operation Baghdad Pups, a division of SPCA International, has found a way around all the red tape that would otherwise prevent our soldiers in the Middle East from being able to bring their new found dog and cat buddies home to the States with them, and thereby rescue them from homelessness in the process. What an honorable operation!
Hello- I received info on this doggy through a rescue with whom I have begun volunteering, and I want to pass this on in case any of you would like to help with the “chip-in” for his rescue efforts. If you feel compelled to help, I know any amount will be greatly appreciated! I want to make you all aware of the upsetting nature of the photos and video in the below link. However, sadly, it is the nature of the current situation, which is why the wonderful person making the rescue efforts is doing this. Hopefully it will all soon change! If the link does not work. please copy and paste into your browser.

I’m not sure about everyone else, but, BOY, am I glad fall is finally here! The Richmond, VA heat was wearing me AND the doggies out, and we are ready for the cool weather. Those midday dog walks are about to be much more enjoyable in the nice, cool, autumn weather, and I can exercise the dogs how I really enjoy soon! More-and longer-brisk walks, jogs, and more energetic park visits will finally be here soon!
Taking my midday walk and pet sitting dogs out in the fall leaves and in the snow is my favorite, so I hope Richmond doesn’t hold back the cold weather this year! I, for one, LOVED the snow last year (I’m sure many of you think I’m crazy right now). Seems to me the dogs couldn’t get enough of it, either. : ) Bring it on Richmond, VA!
